Mail-In LacCheck Breath Test Kit Program

QuinTron’s mail-in kit program gives you the most accurate test results without the expense of instrumentation. The test is so easy to perform that many doctors prefer patients do the test at home, relieving waiting room congestion and allowing the patient greater flexibility and convenience.

LacCheck kits can even be used to test children who are able to follow simple verbal instructions.

Breath samples are collected into evacuated glass tubes with QuinTron’s patented* EasySampler®. The procedure is simple, safe, non-invasive and accurate, requiring only one normal breath per sample from the patient. When the test has been completed the tubes are packed in a postage-prepaid container and mailed to a laboratory which will analyze the samples and provide suggested results to the physician’s office..

This test is reimbursable under CPT code 91065 defined as “Breath Hydrogen Test.”

When a doctor does not perform the assay portion of the test, but interprets the results of the assay, the suffix –26 is attached to the above code.
This allows the laboratory to bill directly for the technical component and the physician to bill for the professional component.
There is no initial cost for the kit**, and all postage is prepaid by the laboratory.

These test kits have undergone stringent testing to assure quality. If the test instructions are not followed carefully and breath samples are not collected accordingly, the results may be adversely affected.

**There is no cost for the kit if the laboratory is able to bill the insurance provider directly. Please check with your provider to learn if they will cover the "Breath Hyrodgen Test" prior to testing. If the laboratory cannot bill the insurance provider, the patient will be billed the cost of the analysis.
